2013 Vegetable Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Registration Details

(* As of March 25th, 2013 CSA Registration is closed (we have reached our capacity).  If we (or a CSA host) has contacted you prior to this date, we will process your registration!*)

Beginning June 5th and ending October 16th 2013 (20 weeks) we will be bringing our weekly harvest of fresh vegetables from our farm near Watseka, IL to the Ravenswood Manor, Oak Park, and Riverwest neighborhoods of Chicago every Wednesday (pickup in Kankakee, IL now available too!).  Each week you can expect a mix of freshly picked produce packed in a wax cardboard box ready to be taken home and enjoyed (some leafy items may be in coolers for pickup to ensure freshness on hot days). We are excited to continue our CSA into its third season (our farm production’s fifth season) and to offer/discover recipes with our shareholders.  Please refer to our growing calendar below (black squares represent seasonal availability) for our offerings — this schedule is always set by Nature’s decisions but we do strive to align with this calendar.

There are several reasons to become a Gray Farms CSA shareholder.  We love packing
your CSA boxes each week – we put a lot of care in assembling all of the colors and textures that our fields have to offer, and we feel that the boxes are exciting to open each week!  In 2013 we will be hosting a shareholder meal and tour at our farm in May and a Fall potluck in the Chicago area to celebrate the season.  CSA members have the opportunity to meet other members and establish community with people who love fresh and local food (like we do).  Each week Crystal and I provide video demonstrations of ways we like to use the produce that the seasons have provided.  Take a look at our videos from 2012!

20 Week Vegetable Share (about 5 to 8 crops per week – for example – a bunch of carrots, a head of pac choi, two pounds of tomatoes)

$350.00, or $325.00 for returning members

We will accept payment in full at time of signup or a $150 deposit may be made to reserve your subscription (balance is due on April 15th, 2013 – this allows us to properly plan our greenhouse and field plantings for the CSA).
